Location Description
Lying to the north-west of the city is the trés chic district of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi; one of the most sought-after neighbourhoods of Barcelona. In a former life it was a village in its own right, and was officially integrated as part of the city in the late 19th-century. As one of Barcelona’s largest districts, it offers a good balance of amenities for residents, and is considered one of the safest parts of the city. Relaxed, friendly squares (‘plaças’) combine with plentiful parks and greenery, with an excellent range of fashionable shops and cafés. The city centre (Plaça de Catalunya) is about a 15-minute train ride away, from the FGC station Muntaner.
